A carefully selected collection of works by island artist Sandra Kennedy to compliment the 2 artworks, A' Coiseachd (Walking) and Aiteal (Transient View) included in the Hulabhaig collection of island contemporary art. 
Sandra is a native Gaelic speaking islander, who’s work is intrinsically linked to place, her place, and the associated experiences she acquires from being in the landscape around her home in Marvig, here on the Isle of Lewis.

New work including Sabaid (Fighting), Camhanach (Dawn), Leum (Leap) and Suain (Sleep), artworks on canvas exploring figurative themes commonly used in Sandra's work reflecting the narrative hints and associations within landscape.

Also selected are Alltan (Little Stream), Àiteachan Creagach (Rocky Places), Dèarrsach nan creag (Shining Rock) and Cortal (Lichen). Earlier works evoking memories of locations regularily visited by Sandra on her daily walk.

Stephan-Maria Aust's photo series ‘Bonnie Truth’ invites us on a visual journey along the coasts of the Hebrides – a seemingly delicate dance of light, shadow and landscape that appears calming at first glance. However, behind this almost poetic aesthetic lies an urgent message: nature is threatened by the flood of plastic waste produced by humans, the sea gurgles with debris and ultimately spits it out onto the beaches. 

With masterful photographic technique, Aust transforms this ambivalent theme into fascinating images full of atmosphere and urgency that arouse emotions and stimulate reflection.
